St Patrick's Day Parade
Our students proudly took part in the Easkey St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We celebrated our school's centenary year as we walked through the village. Maths Week 2025!!
Junior and Senior Infants had great fun participating in Maths Week this year! Working in pairs, the boys and girls played a tower-building game using a dice. Each roll decided how many blocks they could add to their tower — there were lots of giggles, teamwork, and careful counting as they tried to see who could build the tallest tower without it tumbling down! They also enjoyed a colourful Skittles sorting activity, where they grouped the sweets by colour and displayed thei

Back To School!

Junior and Senior Infants School Tour
Junior and Senior Infants had a great day out at Graune Pet Farm for their annual school tour! The child were ful of excitement as they explored the farm, meeting and feeding animals. There were smiles and laughter all around – and plenty of curious questions about the animals too! By the end of the day, after so much fun, sun and fresh air, it was no surprise to see some very sleepy faces on the bus ride home. A quiet coach and a few nodding heads said it all – a day well sp

Sports Day!
The weather didn't get in the way as we had a thoroughly enjoyable Sports Day with lots of fun team games and activities. We are very lucky to have our yard, pitch and soft play area for these days.

Food Dudes
Healthy eating is very important in Rathlee NS and we are really enjoying participating in this year's Food Dudes Programme which encourages us to eat more fruit and vegetables at home and in school. Well done everyone!

At break we took some photos. We were very excited to spot a small nest in a tree in the front yard. We painted some lovely spring flowers in our art class.

Internet Safety Week
Junior and Senior Infants were learning all about how to use the internet safely, with tips from Buddy, the internet safety dog. Buddy taught the children a song to remind them of ways to be safe when using the internet🎶

School Enrolment
We are really excited to be hosting our annual Enrolment Evening on Tuesday January 28th. We are really looking forward to meeting the children and parents in our community as they take the first step in their primary school education.

Smartie Maths
We explored data this week using smartie sweets. We sorted all the smarties into coloured sets and then counted each of the sets. We coloured block graphs to display the contents of our smartie box. We had great fun and enjoyed having them as a treat after the maths activity.

Hawkswell Theatre
Junior to 2nd class had a wonderful trip to the Hawkswell Theatre to see “The Snowman”. Thank you to all involved in the show. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
