St Patrick's Day Parade
Our students proudly took part in the Easkey St. Patrickâs Day Parade. We celebrated our school's centenary year as we walked through the village. We brought history to life by showcasing the contrast between the pupils of 1926 and those of today, 2026. This display highlighted how much school life has changed over the past 100 years. Budding Entrepreneurs
Our 5th and 6th class pupils hosted a very successful school shop recently. They used their maths skills, communication and presentation skills and lots of creativity in developing their own business ideas. The school shop was the culmination of 8 weeks of hard work as part of the Sams Business Bus programme. Well done everyone!

Céilà Dancing
During Seachtain na Gaeilge, our senior classes have been learning some traditional cĂ©ilĂ dances during PE. The pupils enjoyed practising Shoe the Donkey (Cur CrĂșb ar an Asal) and The Walls of Limerick (BallaĂ Luimnigh) We were very lucky to have Mr. Neary accompanying us on the accordion as we danced. Gaeilge timpeall orainn
As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge, Third and Fourth Class have been using their âGaeilge eyesâ to spot Irish in the world around them. The pupils looked carefully at their everyday environment and were delighted to discover so many examples of the Irish language all around us. Basket-Making Workshop
Today we were delighted to welcome Helena Golden to our school for a fantastic basket-making workshop. Third and Fourth Class had the opportunity to work with Helena to create their own handmade willow baskets. It was fascinating to learn about this traditional Irish craft and the skills involved in weaving willow. Helena also kindly showed our younger classes how to make a bird feeder using willow, which will be a lovely addition to our school garden. A big thank you to Hele

Indoor Hurling
Well done to all our hurlers who had a very enjoyable day in Banada playing games against Tubbercurry NS and Balllintogher. Our boys proceed to the next stage of the competition.

Pop Art
We have been exploring Pop Art. We looked at the work of Burton Morris. We looked at some of his most popular work: "Pop!" and "Coffee". We noticed how he uses bright colours and bold lines to make his art stand out. "Pop!" and "Coffee" by Burton Morris We made Valentine's hearts inspired by his work. 5 Aside Soccer/GAA Amigos
Well done to our boys and girls teams that competed in the FAI Primary Schools 5 aside competition in McSharry Park Sligo. Both teams competed very well in all games. They also put in a great performance in the Amigos gaelic football skills competition held in Enniscrone.

Ag cĂłcaireacht i rang a 3 agus a 4
3rd and 4th class were busy learning all about bia as Gaeilge. We practiced new vocabulary and useful phrases, wrote a pizza recipe and then put our learning into action by making our own pizzas. A fun and tasty way to bring our Gaeilge learning to life! đ

St Brigid's Crosses
To celebrate St Brigid's Day we made these crosses by weaving with wool and creating colour patterns. We also read a lovely poem about St Brigid's crosses and learned about the traditions behind them.

Fireworks!
In January, we read a poem about fireworks. We talked about exciting words to describe them and then we wrote our own verses from the firework's perspective. To bring the poem to life, we made 3D fireworks inspired by the poem, experimenting with different paper techniques.

Koalas
We are learning about Australia in geography. We completed a koala report and painted the koalas which are displayed in the school hallway. Koalas are marsupials and are native to Australia.

Signs of spring
Our spring bulbs are beginning to bloom. We also spotted a birdâs nest in a tree in the school yard. Our St. Brigidâs crosses made from lollipop sticks are displayed in our classroom.

Last month we worked on procedural writing -how to build a snowman. We had fun drawing snowmen and hot chocolate in our art class .

Blast = Creative Classroom!
Blast = Creative Classroom! 5th and 6th class have just finished taking part in the BLAST Art and Creativity programme, working alongside artist Karen Webster. The pupils explored a wide range of artistic techniques, including watercolour painting, creating their own sketchbooks, and using beach materials and clay to design ephemeral artworks. They also pressed seaweed and used it in gel printing, combining natural materials with printmaking skills. The programme encouraged

Sligo Champions
Well done to our team that won the Cuman na mBunscol Sligo sports quiz. This is our second year in a row coming out on top and everyone in Rathlee NS is very proud of the team's achievement. They will now go on to represent Sligo at Connaught and All Ireland level.
