We are had lots of fun creating wonderful pictures in our art class

Junior to 2nd class had a wonderful trip to the Hawkswell Theatre to see “The Snowman”. Thank you to all involved in the show. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We have been covering pattern in maths. We decided to integrate this science experiment with the topic. You will need Skittles White plate Warm water Instructions Place the skittles around the edge of the plate. Carefully pour warm water over the top. Watch as the colours spread through the water! We planted daffodil bulbs in pots before the Midterm break. We have a hyacinth bulb on display in our classroom and look forward to watching the roots grow over the coming months.

We had great fun making shapes with mini marshmallows, cocktail sticks and spaghetti.

We had great fun harvesting our potatoes. Our potatoes grew very well in the grow bags. We steamed the potatoes and served them with salt and butter and sprinkled some herbs from the garden. They were delicious.

We demonstrated a handwashing science experiment that reminded us the importance of using soap when washing our hands. Soap makes "germs" scatter. We sprinkled black pepper onto water in a bowl. This represented "germs " on our skin. The teacher covered one finger with dish soap and stuck the finger into the water. The germs scattered from the soap.

We had a very exciting day on Friday. The children wore their Halloween costumes to school and also brought their pumpkin creations in for our annual competition. There was fantastic creativity. Well done to the prize-winners in each classroom. Thank you to our hard working Parents Association on organising this fun activity. Later in the day, we went to Kilglass for the Scary Wood Walk which was very spooky!

Wishing all our school community a happy, safe mid term break

1st and 2nd had fun exploring the school grounds today. We completed a shape trail in pairs.

We enjoyed listening to the autumn story The Leaf Thief. Our art class was inspired by the squirrel character and the autumn leaves as its bushy tail.
