Food Miles/Kilometres is the total distance the food or its ingredients have travelled to get to our plates.
Food miles/kilometres helps us to see how much CARBON DIOXIDE has been produced by transporting the food.
The further our food travels to reach us, the more carbon dioxide it produces which causes Climate Change.
Producing, packaging and selling food also causes carbon dioxide emissions.
A CARBON FOOTPRINT tells you the amount of CO2 you are responsible for making.
