Basket-Making Workshop

Today we were delighted to welcome Helena Golden to our school for a fantastic basket-making workshop.

Third and Fourth Class had the opportunity to work with Helena to create their own handmade willow baskets. It was fascinating to learn about this traditional Irish craft and the skills involved in weaving willow.

Helena also kindly showed our younger classes how to make a bird feeder using willow, which will be a lovely addition to our school garden.

A big thank you to Helena for sharing her time, talent and knowledge with us. It was a very enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved.
