Skittles Experiment

We arranged the sweets on a plate and then poured warm water in the centre of the plate.

what we learned.: Skittles are coated in food colouring and sugar. When you pour water over the skittles the coloured coating dissolves spreading through the water.

We tried this experiment twice. We placed the same coloured skittles beside one another in the first attempt and placed different colours side by side in the second attempt. We all agreed we preferred the colourful pattern in the second attempt.
